Designed by Steven Tai and John Nussey, the Pen Nib dress is a garment with animated "scales" comprising 795 pen nibs, mounted on tiny motors. The effect of the animated pen nibs is remarkable; the garment flickers, twitches and glistens like a second "protective" skin.
A trapeze routine is transformed into a stage trick, a music box automaton and a mesmerizing carousel. This is where slight-of-hand meets spectacle and how circus becomes cinema.
